ORDERS & RETURNS

 An Order to Buy can be placed by you in a various ways: directly with a member of Vintage Strategies staff via telephone or in writing via email; online via the Website.

 By placing an Order to Buy, or interacting with Website in such a way that may result in an Order to Buy, you agree that you are capable of entering into a legally binding contract and you must be at least 21 years old or you must have reached the requisite age in your home territory for the purchase of alcohol. All contracts are subject to United States law and jurisdiction. All Goods are offered subject to market price movement and remaining unsold. 

 A Contract for Sale which incorporates these Terms and Conditions in full will come into existence when we expressly accept your Order to Buy. Please note that an acknowledgement of your Order by us by telephone, email or Website confirmation does not constitute acceptance of your Order. Your Order will be accepted when we take payment from you or issue an invoice to you for the Order.  

 We are free to accept or decline the whole or part of any Order to Buy at our absolute discretion. Where we decline part of an Order to Buy we will confirm this to you and afford you the opportunity to continue with the part of the Order we have accepted. 

  In the event of non-payment of account within the specified terms for payment, we reserve the right to charge interest on any sums owing to us at the rate of 8% base rate from time to time from the date payment is due to the date of payment. 

If you are not satisfied with your purchase of fine wine from us, or we have made an error with your order, please email us immediately at sales@vintage-strategies.com explaining the reasons for your dissatisfaction. Each situation will be reviewed on an individual basis in light of facts and circumstances of that case and resolved promptly. 

Other than for Vintage Strategies errors, we generally cannot accept a return after 7 days because the passage of time generally limits our ability to recover credit from our supplier and we have no way of verifying your storage conditions. 

Note that we may ask you to return questionable bottles (including both opened and unopened ones) to us for evaluation and for possible return to our supplier. 

Set forth below are examples of both valid and invalid reasons for returning wine, which are subject to Vintage Strategies' investigation, review and final evaluation of the relevant facts and circumstances regarding a particular request for return. 

• The wrong wine was sent. (e.g. different vintage than ordered)
• The bottle condition upon arrival was not consistent with our inspection guidelines.
• The wine is leaking upon arrival, spoiled or "cooked" and was shipped in accordance with our shipping policy. (We do not guarantee condition if you chose to override our shipping policy.)

 Important Note: Photos of damaged or leaking bottles are required to be sent to sales@vintage-startegies.com within 24 hours of arrival in order to qualify for a return.  

• You decide you don't want the wine.
• You don't like the wine.
• You received a gift from someone via Vintage Strategies and want to exchange it.
• You overbought and want to return excess wine.
• The wine is showing signs of damage after leaving our possession for reasons including adverse weather conditions during shipment (where you have overridden our shipping policy or for any international shipment), delays caused by failed delivery attempts through no fault of the shipper, improper storage, or other forms of mistreatment.
• The wine is corked or flawed. The winery, not Vintage Strategies, is the source of this problem but we understand it can be disappointing.
• All wine over ten years old or shipped overseas are final sale.
• Any order that is unable to ship, or is seized or destroyed due to violation or potential violation of shipping laws or common carrier policy is not refundable. YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR DETERMINING THE MANNER IN WHICH ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES MAY LAWFULLY BE BROUGHT INTO YOUR JURISDICTION. 

• Cancellations before 5PM PST on the same day your order is placed are free.
• Cancellations after 5PM PST on the order day incur a 7% transaction fee.
• For cancellations made after 7 days, a 15% restocking fee applies to recover lost business opportunities. 
•  For returns made after 7 days, a 15% restocking fee will be applied to offset product handling and restocking expenses. This fee will be automatically deducted from your refund. 

 Trading costs 

 When the return is to be realized, and the assets are sold, this is done in consignment sale with a fixed commission rate of between 5% and 10%, determined based on portfolio size - the larger the sale, the smaller the commission. 

 Although we endeavour to ensure that all pricing information on this website is accurate, occasionally an error may occur & goods may be mis-priced. If we discover a pricing error we will, at our discretion, either: contact you & ask you whether you wish to cancel your order or continue with the order at the correct price; or notify you that we have cancelled your order. We will not be obliged to supply goods at the incorrect price. 

We reserve the right to adjust prices, offers, goods and specifications of goods at our discretion at any time before we accept your order. Where an end date is specified on any offer on the website, it is intended as a guide only. Vintage Strategies reserves the right to change prices at any time.
